'Equality' is the thing that every human on this planet wants. And especially in the United States, black people are deprived of many things than that of white ones. The cases of racial discrimination and racial disputes have been acknowledged in the world for many years and time. But people might be looking for equality in micro-aspects of their lifestyle as well, which might come through their daily life or profession.
In this case, the African-American model Amy Lefevre denied wearing 'racist' monkey ears and lips at the Fashion Institute of Technology runway show back in February 2020. She mentioned that she felt pressurized to wear bizarre, "racist" accessories like "monkey ears" and oversize lips. She told:
"I stood there almost ready to break down, telling the staff that I felt incredibly uncomfortable with having to wear these pieces and that they were clearly racist. I was told that it was fine to feel uncomfortable for only 45 seconds."
Furthermore, she added:
"I was literally shaking. I could not control my emotions. My whole body was shaking. I have never felt like that in my life,” she said. “People of color are struggling too much in 2020 for the promoters not to have vetted and cleared accessories for the show."
Eventually, Lefevre walked the runway without wearing the ears or the bright-red synthetic lips. The event during New York's Fashion Week (NYFW) took place at Manhattan's Pier59 Studios. As per the reports, the central theme of the fashion event was to bestow ten alumni from FIT's inaugural Master of Fine Arts class in fashion design.

When Lefevre told about the incident to her agency, Q Model Management, the company was furious. Reports claim that the agency received 'conflicting reports' after the show in Manhattan.
Lefevre, who has been modeling for nearly a half-decade, as of now, mentioned that she appeared on more than two dozens of catwalks but had never experienced as bad as the FIT Fashion Event on 7 February 2020.
