Plot And Overall Review
Hachiman, Yukino, Yui, and Iroha survey the photographs from the prom session while thinking about the achievement that they have achieved for creating a favorable positive sentiment towards holding a prom. When Hachiman thinks about the following stages in arranging the prom, Yukino emphasizes that she and Iroha suffice for arranging the occasion without the help of Hachiman and Yui.
As Hachiman and Yui leave, he recommends that both go out on the town to shop for a present for Komachi to praise her on passing the Sōbu High School test. They choose to visit LaLaPort Tokyo Bay, a close-by shopping mall.
Once there, Hachiman recognizes a MAX Coffee-themed candy machine and spouts about it to a fairly dazed Yui.
After taking a few selfies with the machine, Yui shocks him by taking a selfie with him using a dog AR channel.
A short time later, both of them visit the IKEA furniture store nearby. While analyzing the store, both of them befall upon a studio showroom. Yui welcomes Hachiman to sit on the bed with her and asks him what he craved to be when he was little.
He answers Yui by disclosing that he needed an assortment of occupations that would regularly have enormous pay rates.
Yui reacts by noting that they are all attached to money before saying that she wanted to become a flower shop owner, cake shop owner, or an idol. She follows this by saying that she also wished to be a bride, with a trace of perception and nervousness in her voice. Yui then proposes that she and Hachiman make a custom-made present for Komachi.
The following day, as Yui and Hachiman get ready to return home from school with no duties regarding the service club affairs, they get spotted by Iroha, who takes them to the hall. They stumble upon Yukino involved with a strained showdown with her sister, Haruno, and her mom, with Shizuka looking on.
Yukino's mom pitches a minority of guardians and network figures who became worried about wrong practices that students may take part in the prom and voiced her anxiety. Iroha reacts indignantly, inquiring why these dissidents didn't make their interests known before.
At that point, Yukino's mom asks Haruno whether there was any disappointment with past, non-prom thank you parties held by the school, to which Haruno concurs that there was none. Hachiman contemplates that Yukino's mom is scary because she conveys a nice, welcoming facade but counter-attacks without notice.
In acknowledging Hachiman's query why the school gave inevitable consent for the students to organize the prom, Shizuka gives a systematic response to the circumstance, remarking that the school had supported autonomy to the students. Yukino's mom finishes up by asking Yukino to return home prior and not exhaust herself on the prom.
Yukino's mom leaves, and Shizuka discloses that it would be better for her not to meddle with the prom for the following year. Haruno then expresses Shizuka's shock for not having enlightened others concerning her takeoff from the school, making the others in the room startled.
As Yukino contemplates various ways to assuage the dissenting guardians, Hachiman suggests that they should make a move on the issue. However, Yukino rejects Hachiman's proposal for help, repeating that she needs to deal with the prom arranging herself. Haruno chides Hachiman for acting like an older brother to Yukino and portrays the relationship between Hachiman, Yukino, and Yui before being interrupted by Yukino.
The following day, on a stormy morning, Hachiman thinks about the discussion that he had with Haruno not long after the gathering. During the discussion, she asks him how he would depict the relationship that he, Yukino, and Yui have. He depicts it as an affection triangle, causing Haruno a deep sense of entertainment.
At that point, she answers that the right response for the word that portrays their relationship is codependency, noting how Hachiman must feel great when Yukino depends on him. She proceeds by disclosing that Yukino needs to move past relying upon others and become a grown-up like her.
Afterward, Hachiman and Yui walk home together. Yui considers where and how they could set up a natively homemade cake for Komachi when suddenly gets a LINE message from Iroha dampening that the prom is in genuine danger. Decisively, Hachiman calls Shizuka and requests to come and help.
Notwithstanding, Shizuka expects Hachiman to give a valid justification for why he needs to help Yukino, noticing that Yukino explicitly requested that they should halt the prom arrangements. After presenting a series of vague answers, Hachiman expresses more sincerely and says that he wants to help Yukino with the prom because he vowed that he would save her someday. Happy with this answer, Shizuka requests that Hachiman return to the school.
After he hangs up, he sees a tear on Yui's cheek and her eyes tearing up, causing him concern. Regardless of Hachiman's proposal to walk her home, Yui dismisses the circumstance, saying that her tears were alleviating and guaranteeing him she is fine.
As Hachiman runs back to the school, Yui hides behind a metal fence and sinks to the ground sobbing.
She discourses about how it was adequate that her tears had quit, figuring that Hachiman would come and help her if she had kept on crying before him.
She further gives up on her powerlessness to stop Hachiman's and Yukino's unique relationship while pondering the image that Yukino had of her and Hachiman at Destiny land.
