Keoki Demich, a handyman, killed a woman, Cynthia Cole, whom he called his second mother. They had known each other since 2017. He was very close to everyone in Cole's family and even send a Christmas card with a message thanking her for being in his life.
This started when Cole's friend made a police report of her missing. She was last seen alive at Jammin Jensen, a street party. As soon as police found out about it they made a missing person alert of a 57 years old woman and her car, a gray Jeep Cherokee.
Firstly police found Cynthia's jeep parked in a parking lot near the Stuart Fellowship Hall. Later, police discovered her body in the Septic Tank on 5 March and dug around the house in order to gain her complete body.
Based on documents, that night, Keoki Demich waited for Cole in her shower and kept hiding after Cole reached her house in search of a proper opportunity. As soon as he got that opportunity, he slammed her into the door and sexually abused her. Later, he drowned her in the bathtub and buried her body in the septic tank.
As per the autopsy report, blunt force injuries to her head, torso, and extremities were the cause of Cynthia's death.
During the investigation, Keoki regularly changed his statement and that wasn't working. Finally, shortly after the body was found, he was caught and brought to court. Investigation even found surveillance footage that showed Demich walking away from Cole’s vehicle the night she disappeared.
Finally, Keoki was guilty of first-degree murder, burglary of an occupied dwelling with assault or battery, sexual battery with great force, grand theft, and grand theft of a motor vehicle. Finally, he was sentenced to three consecutive life terms in prison on 16 August 2022 after prosecutors agreed to no longer seek the death penalty for Keoki. Now, Keoki will only come out of jail after his death naturally or due to disease.
