Kaylee Sawyer was an American student at Central Oregon Community College, and she was abducted and murdered by a campus security guard, Edwin Lara, who had a fascination with dead bodies. However, Kaylee Sawyer didn’t own a Wikipedia page.

02 March 1993 Born, Kaylee is the daughter of her parents, Juli VanCleave and Jamie Sawyer, from Bend, Oregon, United States. Her parents are reportedly divorced and have remarried with their respective partners. Regardless, Kaylee had a close relationship with both of her parents. Her mother, Juli, shared that Kaylee had four younger sibling brothers waiting for her at home. Hence, Kaylee was not the only child of her parents.

Sadly, she died at the age of 23 on 24 July 2016 at Central Oregon Community College, Bend, Oregon, United States. Meanwhile, Oregon native Kaylee was an American of white ethnicity and used to follow the path of the Christian religion.

Kaylee Sawyer was in a relationship with her boyfriend, Cameron Reimhofer. She shared an apartment with her boyfriend near the community college, where safety officers often patrolled the area. 

Kaylee and her boyfriend, Cameron, had a fight on the night of the incident, and Kaylee walked away into the darkness to cool off. Her boyfriend, Cameron, tried to text her after a few minutes, and she replied to him stating her phone was dying and said “Goodbye”.

Kaylee’s boyfriend Cameron called 911, 12 hours after her disappearance, and his call with 911 was shared via Facebook on 06 November 2019. 

What Happened To Kaylee Sawyer?

Kaylee Sawyer was kidnapped, raped, and brutally murdered by a Central Oregon Community College security guard named Edwin Lara while she was returning from a friend’s bachelorette party on 23 July 2016. Kaylee left without her boyfriend from the party after an argument, and when Kaylee was not home till the next day, her boyfriend filed a missing person report. Police suspected her boyfriend, Cameron, but on 25 July, the wife of Edwin Lara reported her husband’s confession to kill a woman. 

Edwin Lara called 911 on his own on 26 July and confessed his murder of Kaylee and his crime of carjacking and terrorizing families. Edwin also gave the location of Kaylee’s body, and she had Blunt force trauma, strangulation, multiple skull fractures, and wounds, as per her autopsy results.

Eventually, Edwin was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of release or parole on January 2018.
