Joseph Sonnier was the chief pathologist at a local hospital who was murdered in his home in Texas on 10 July 2012. He was the victim of a love triangle where his then-girlfriend's jealous ex found a hitman to kill him.

Joseph Sonnier was born in 1954, making him 57 years old at the time of his death in 2012. He celebrated his birthday on 14 September every year with his family and friends. He was born to his parents, Joseph Albert Sonnier Jr (father) and Anna Marie Sonnier (mother). His father died in 1999 a the age of 68. There isn't much information about his parents. 

Joseph Sonnier grew up along with his three siblings in Shreveport, where he and his family moved in 1966. He has two sisters, Susie McBride and Missy Bartlett, and a brother, Dr. George Sonnier.

Moreover, as a native of Lousiana, Joseph had an American nationality. He had white ethnicity and had faith in Christianity as a religion. As per his birthday, he had a zodiac sign of Virgo.

Joseph Sonnier Died Due To Girlfriend Richelle Shetina's Jealous Ex

Joseph Sonnier had started to date his then-girlfriend Richelle Shetina in July 2011. His girlfriend had a prior relationship with Dr. Thomas Dixon, an Amarillo plastic surgeon. She ended the relationship due to ups and downs in their relationship.

However, Dixon had an obsession with her and wanted her back in his life. He paid David Shepard to separate with three silver bars a box of expensive Cuban cigars. However, it ended up killing Joseph Sonnier. Based on David's testimony, David accidentally shot Joseph and later stabbed him with the knife 11 times. He even added that he stabbed Sonnier in an idiotic and foolish attempt to cover up. Both men were held on $10 million bonds.

David was convicted on two counts of capital murder in November 2015 and sentenced to life in prison without parole. Moreover, the court set Dixon's bail at $2 million, which he quickly paid and was released on 28 January 2019. However, in April 2020, Justices of the Seventh Court of Appeals revoked his bail, sending him back behind bars.

Joseph Sonnier's cause of death was due to the gunshot rather than the stabbing of the knife.

Prior to Being in a relationship with Richelle Shetina, Joseph Sonnier had a wife, Becky Gallegos. The couple had already divorced. The couple had two sons, Joseph A. Sonnier IV and James Sonnier. His ex-wife was also killed two years prior to him, on 12 July 2010, by her second husband, who then turned the gun on himself.
