Erin Caffey, together with her boyfriend, Charlie Wilkinson, planned the murder of her family as they stopped her from dating her boyfriend. As per the sources, the couple met for the first time at the Sonic fast-food joint, where Erin worked as a waitress. Not only that, but the couple got serious in their relationship as Wilkinson even gave her a promise ring which belonged to his grandmother.
However, Caffey's parents were not pleased with her boyfriend as his father, in an interview, said that some of Wilkinson's information did not sound right to him. Erin, who used to go to the church to pray and sing, did not go there and also degraded her grade since she started dating. Due to this, her parents opposed her five months of dating Wilkinson.
Erin was so mad with her parents as she was separated from her love of life. Then, on the night of 1 March 2008, her boyfriend, together with his friends, drove down to Erin's house and stabbed and shot Erin's family. In that incident, Erin's father, fortunately, survived as he forced himself out of the house despite being heavily injured by the stabbing when the assailants set their home on fire.
