Duane Owen was found guilty in the brutal killings of a 14-year-old babysitter, Karen Slattery of Boynton Beach, and a 38-year-old executive secretary and single mother of two, Georgianna Worden, of Boca Raton. As per records, he was sentenced to death for the 24 March 1984, rape and fatal stabbing of Karen Slattery, and for the rape and deadly hammer attack two months later on Georgianna Worden.
