They say there is equality, and every man and woman lives with dignity, but the recent death (murder) of Geroge Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota proves it wrong.

And it is evidence that there is a massive difference in how people treat black and white race citizens throughout the country, the United States.

But what's good is that the police officer, who got accused of killing the black man, George Floyd, got charged with some felonies. Derek Chauvin is the name of the convicted police officer, who kneeled on Geoge's neck that took his life.

The disturbing footage that appeared after the incident outraged the whole country that demanded justice for the black man and punishment to the cruel officers.

As a consequence, Derek Chauvin got charged with murder and manslaughter by the Hennepin County attorney's office. Also, the authorities mentioned that there might be other charges against him later.

Meanwhile, the autopsy report of late George Floyd shows that there are no signs of diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia and strangulation.

There were rumors that the underlying health condition of George Floyd aided to the effects that suffocation because of the police officer.

Story Behind George Floyd's Murder And Charges

Derek Chauvin, a Minnesota Police Officer, kneeled on George Floyd's neck for eight and 46 seconds in total. He already became unresponsive for the last two and fifty-three seconds. In the video that surfaced later, we can see George saying that he could not breathe. However, the cruel officer eventually killed the black guy, George Floyd.

As per the reports, police have trained the restraint with a prone position, which is dangerous. The complaint further accuses Derek disregarding another officer, Thomas Lane, who suggested 'should we roll him on his side?' and Derek reportedly responded 'No.'

After the incident flamed with critiques, Derek eventually got arrested. He was taken to custody by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

The Hennepin County attorney's office recently charged him with the murder and manslaughter. The first charge against him was listed as 'murder – 3rd degree – Perpetrating Eminently Dangerous Act and Evincing Depraved Mind.' It might lead Derek to a sentence of 25 years.

Similarly, the second charge was named '2nd Degree – Culpable Negligence Creating Unreasonable Risk,' which can probably sentence Derek 10 years of prison.

Who Is Derek Chauvin?

Derek Chauvin is a convicted police officer who killed George Floyd. He is convicted of murder and manslaughter regarding George Floyd's death. He served under the department of Minneapolis, Minnesota Police Department.

As per TwinCities.com, he joined the Minneapolis Police Academy in October 2001 and served in the first, third, fourth precincts.

Concerning the crime field, Derek does not seem noob. He was previously involved in three police shootings cases, as well as dealt with a series of complaints against him. Derek's name has already appeared in a report by Communities United Against Police Brutality called "Stolen Lives in Minnesota: People Who Have Lost Their Lives Through Encounters with Law Enforcement Authorities."

As per the report, he shot fired at a man named Wayne Reyes in 2006. Similarly, other shooting cases occurred in 2008 and 2011, respectively.

President Donald Trump Said He Spoke To George Floyd's Family

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, said that he spoke to the unarmed black man George Floyd who lost his life at the hands of a police officer in Minneapolis. Speaking during the roundtable event at the White House, Trump said;

"I want to express our nation's deepest condolences and most heartfelt sympathies to the family of George Floyd. I spoke to members of the family -- terrific people."

Also, Trump mentioned that the death of George was 'a terrible, terrible thing that happened.' 'It's a local situation, but we're also making it into a federal situation, and it's a terrible thing. We all saw what we saw, and it's tough to even conceive of anything other than what we did see,' he said.
