The current world is threatened with the running epidemic known as Coronavirus (COVID-19), and it has affected not only most parts of China but the whole world.

Till the date, nearly 100,000 people are tested positive with Coronavirus, and 3,390 have died of the cause. Reports suggest that 55,807 people have successfully recovered from the disease. Still, it needs strict precautions and hygienic lifestyle as a caution as the disease has affected many sides of the world.

Out of that, one is the Coachella Festival in Indio, California, in the United States, which appears to be canceled due to the burning health epidemic, Coronavirus.

Coachella Is Postponed

Bad luck to the people who had already got their tickets for Coachella Festival because it is being postponed. It was set to take place in April for around ten days, but things go wrong due to the worldwide influencing pandemic, Coronavirus (COVID-19).

After the requests from health institutions and concerning the effects of the disease, the organizer, Goldenvoice, postponed the festival until October 2020. Goldenvoice released a statement letter on Twitter on 11 March 2020 about shifting the festival.

Coachella Festival will resume from the 9th to 19 October 2020. Goldenvoice further mentioned:

"While this decision comes at a time of universal uncertainty, we take the safety and health of our guests, staff, and community very seriously."

As per the latest reports, around 1,000 confirmed cases with 28 deaths have aroused, which is likely to increase in the coming days.

Will Coronavirus Cancel Coachella Festival 2020?

Every music lover wishes to attend Coachella Festival, and there is no option for that.

Coachella, one of the biggest festivals of the United States, which was started since 1999, features several genres of music including rock, pop, indie, electronic dance music, and hip hop, which is the main attraction of the event.

The festival marks the 21st year celebration this year (2020); however, the operation of the event was uncertain. It can be proceeded as per the scheduled date or be canceled as well due to the fear of a worldwide health epidemic, Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The scheduled date of the Coachella Festival 2020 was from the 10th to 20 April 2020. Concerning the cancellation of the ULTRA Music Festival in Miami, Coachella was also considered to be dropped down.

California itself is one of the vulnerable cities in regards to Coronavirus in the United States, and the Coachella Festival is more likely to get affected by it. Similarly, cities like Florida and Los Angeles have already confirmed over 50 cases of the disease. Since the music festival gathers an avalanche of people from several towns, Coachella is at high risk of getting canceled.

The officials have already activated its emergency operations center due to coronavirus concerns in Indio, California. Similarly, over 40,000 people have requested the authorities to cancel the music event.

On the other hand, the organizers, promoters, as well as artists might be in loss if the Coachella Festival gets stranded. AEG and Live Nation, who are the two largest concert promoters of the United States, have already called that they won't pay anyone if the festival gets dropped since the tickets have to be refunded.

Similarly, the performing artists might get through the arguments concerning their costs and their profits. They will demand the partial or full payment as promised by the organizers and promoters for the festival.

Officials Of Coachella Had No Signs Of Canceling The Music Festival

Artists including Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott, Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey, Thom Yorke, Run the Jewels, FKA twigs, Lil Uzi Vert, and many others were the lineup performers of the upcoming Coachella Festival in Indio, California. And, the organizers of the festival were not likely to cancel the event.

On 5 March 2020, the officials from Coachella, Palm Springs, and Riverside County gathered up for addressing the public concerns regarding the talks of the event's cancellation due to the fear of Coronavirus. Riverside County's Supervisor V. Manuel Perez had assured the residents and travelers that their region is safe.

Similarly, officials from Coachella and Palm Springs said that proactive measures were being taken to avoid the spread of Coronavirus. They also had released a statement that the risk is low in their region.

They further had mentioned that in case the COVID-19 situation takes a dramatic turn for the worse, they will reassess their position. As per KESQ, Riverside County Public Health Officer, Dr. Cameron Kaiser, had the authority to cancel Coachella if any urgent threat had appeared.
