She has stood out in the Kpop industry with her powerful and beautiful vocals and has collaborated with popular artists like Sunyoul of UP10TION, Jihoo of IZ, Yoon Jong Shin, and San E, Loco. She even had her solo digital single, Love Rain, in 2018.

Who Is GFRIEND's Yuju?

Yuju's real name is Choi Yu-Na, born on 4 October 1997. Her blood type is B, and she weighs 49 kg as she stands tall at 1.7 m. Her birthplace is Ilsan, South Korea, and she has an older sibling. 

She attended the Seoul School of Performing Arts and graduated in 2016 with her group member, Eunha. She is enrolled in Contemporary Practical music at Sungshin Women's University for her Bachelor's degree.

Yuju's Journey To K-POP: GFRIEND To Solo Career

Yuju was a trainee in LOEN Entertainment. She appeared on singing variety shows like the King of Masked Singer during her trainee years in 2015. She performed two songs - I Love You and Without a Heart. She then debuted under Source Music as the main vocalist of the former girl group GFRIEND.

GFRIEND, one of South Korea's top girl groups, consisted of six members - Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Sin B, Umji, and Yuju. They gathered attention and love from the public for a clear image. Their debut song, Me Gustas Tu, was a success released in 2015 and went on to have many popular title songs for their comeback each year.

The public well received the former girl group's comeback, and some of them were Love Whisper, Rough, Navillera, Fingertips, Mago, and Glass Bead. However, the group disbanded and ended its contracts with Source Music after six years in 2021.

After the group disbanded, Yuju went on to sign with KONNECT Entertainment which is popular as Kang Daniel's agency. The news was announced in a statement in September 2021 by the agency itself. After the announcement, Yuju had her official accounts on YouTube, Twitter, and VLive.

Her first solo mini-album, REC, dropped on 18 January 2022. The former girl group member, Yuju looks gorgeous in her first teaser image, which was shared on her official Twitter account. She flaunted a red gown with a black jacket in an amusement park background.

She released the teaser schedule for her solo debut REC. It is her first release since she joined Kang Daniel's agency KONNECT Entertainment last year as she departed from Source Music in May following GRIEND's disbandment.

Many fans are excited and happy for the main vocalist of GFRIEND to embark on her solo journey.

Is Yuju Dating Anyone? Who Is Her Boyfriend?

GFRIEND Yuju was once rumored to be dating BTS Jungkook, but it was all a rumor as they have never confirmed their relationship. Many fans shipped them together as they once performed for the end year show on KBS. Their vocals were matched perfectly, and people loved their leading vocals in the performance.

In one of her interviews, Yuju talked about her ideal type of partner and shared that she likes someone attractive when he smiles and is reliable. She further added that she wants someone who has a cute and unique character and understanding.

Yuju also chose Kang Ho Dong of JTBC's Ask Us Anything when asked to choose their boyfriend material. She chose Kang Ho Dong, saying he looked exactly like her dad.

Yuju had also shared about her bad sleeping habits and admitted crying in her sleep one time when she dreamt of her mother being a tomato. Her former leader, Sowon, further shared that Yuju tends to sleep talk and practice their choreography.
