Timothy Simpkins opened fire in his classroom at Timberview High School on 6 October 2021, after a fight with a fellow student Selby, who is three years his junior. Videos that were made public showed that Simpkins was being striked with fist by Selby. Eventually, teachers and coaches tried to restrain Simpkins. Later, Timothy went to his orange backpack, pulled out of a .45 caliber handgun and started shot Selby. During shooting, he even shot a teacher who tried to break up the fight. Simpkins fled in a Silver Dodge Charger before later turning himself into authorities.

At the same time, Timothy Simpkins was placed on  $75,000 bond allowing Simpkins to return home under house arrest. However, he was prohibited from using a gun and was required to stay 1,000 feet from the school. His family spoke out to defend him after his arrest, claiming he was a loveable boy who snapped after being bullied. As per records, he used to drive $35,000 Dodge Challenger and wore nice clothes.
