Ree Drummond Shares Her Weight Loss Secrets
The blogger Ree Drummond says she has lost 43 pounds since starting her weight loss journey – and she is “still working on it.”
“I hesitate to even say that number, because for me, the way I feel today, it isn’t about the weight loss,” Ree revealed in a lengthy post on her site. “Feeling good is really all that matters, and because of that, the weigh-ins are becoming less and less important to me.”
Drummond then went out of her way to even disclose the secrets of her weight loss to her readers as an inspiration for them.
“Everything I’m about to lay out worked for me, and if any of it helps you or inspires you, that’s wonderful,” she wrote, before advising, “But don’t take it as gospel, and definitely talk to your doctor before starting anything new.”
The blogger then avoiding methods like the Keto diet, intermittent fasting, a personal trainer, or weight loss program. She said she ate fewer calories, weighed her food, exercised, built muscle, ate more protein, ate less sugar, drank no alcohol, used an app called Happy Scale, and switched to a standing desk. She provided details for each step.

“It only took me 52 years to figure it out, but that’s okay!” she concluded in her post. “I hope this helps you, whether in big ways or small.”
Drummond started her weight loss journey in January 2021 due to her desire to change something in herself. Explaining her motivation, she said, “What motivated me the most was just wanting to feel better and have more energy. In January, just before I bit the bullet and took the leap, I was tired, puffy, and desperate … and I knew I shouldn’t be feeling that way.”
She then explained what worked for her this time. First, she focused on smaller changes rather than overhauling her entire lifestyle. Eventually, as a result, it helped her to better change for herself.
Who Is Ree Drummond Married To?
Ree Drummond is married to Ladd Drummond for over 24 years.
Ree’s husband Ladd got himself in a slightly amusing accident in early April 2021. During an Instagram Live video with her daughter Alex, Ree revealed that her husband told her about an interesting interaction he had with one of the animals on their ranch.
“I said, ‘How was your day, honey?’ and he said, ‘I got kicked in the head by a cow,’” she said in the video. Alex was slightly amused at this point and asked, “Are you serious? That’s horrible. Is he OK?” Luckily, Drummond’s husband is doing just fine, and she seemed more entertained than concerned.
A month before this amusing incident, Drummond’s husband and their nephew, Caleb, were landed in the hospital after a truck collision in May. They were each driving some heavy vehicles, neither of them wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Both men were taken to the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, where Caleb was admitted in critical condition. And Ladd was, later on, hospitalized for having her neck broken in two places, as per the reports.
Thankfully, the men have a steady recovery. Drummond's family has been giving fans a health update on both men. “Ladd and Caleb are healing up after accident on the ranch,” read a post by the Instagram account of Ree. She also expressed her gratitude for the kind words of fans to their family on the same post.
The pair first met when Ree headed out for a casual girls’ night in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Ree saw Ladd standing across the bar and felt an instant connection during their long conversation. But they didn’t immediately hit off well together.
Nearly six months later, Ladd contacted Ree, and they had dinner the following evening, and their first date ended with a kiss on her parents’ front porch. Following the flow of the events, Ladd said he loved her to his future wife on the back porch of his ranch just two weeks later.
Ree and Ladd got married in an Episcopal church ceremony on 21 September 1996. She wore a classic white dress, and he traded in his jeans for a black tuxedo with cowboy boots. The newlyweds left for a honeymoon in Australia afterward.
The couple is still very much in love together over the long marriage. Though Ree came from a well-off family herself, her wealth grew further when she married Ladd’s family. According to the Oklahoma Historical Society, Ladd also comes from a long line of cattle ranchers, dating back as far as the late 1800s and early 1900s.
They have four kids together; Alex, Paige, Bryce, and Todd. The couple also got a foster kid from Ree’s side named Jamar. Alex is the oldest among the couple’s kids, and she left the Drummond Ranch after high school. The second-oldest, Paige, has a secret love for her mother, which she does not show during the filming of her mother’s blog. Bryce, the oldest of the couple’s boys, is quite a good football player, and he also played football together with Jamar at their high school. The youngest, Todd, is also following in his brother’s footsteps by playing football.
