The British singer, Ed Sheeran, has released that his one-year-old daughter, Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran, has also tested positive for COVId -19 after he was also tested positive for coronavirus.
He confirmed the news to The Daily Mail that he and his daughter are self-isolating away from his wife. He stated,
“I’m self-isolating with my daughter. I have been alone with her, without my wife, since we are both positive. I am now going to spend 10 days alone with her. Sometimes I am away and spend just two days a week with her, so being able to be with her for 10 straight days is great. I just spoke to Cherry and told her to relax, take long baths! Our fridge is full and we are just eating all the time.”
Ed Sheeran announced to his Instagram followers that he had tested positive for coronavirus and that he would continue to perform from his home despite the illness.
He said, “I’ve sadly tested positive for Covid, so I’m now self-isolating and following government guidelines.”

Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran’s parents, Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn, were childhood friends and later became lovers and now parents. They started dating in 2015 and were spotted together in New York City the same year.
Her parents are very romantic to the point that her father wrote songs inspired by her mother. Ed Sheeran had talked about how ‘Perfect’ was the first song he wrote, which was inspired by Cherry. He told,
“The line that goes, ‘Barefoot on the grass, listening to our favorite song’ was about when we were in Ibiza listening to Future’s 'March Madness', literally not wearing any shoes and going mental on the lawn, which was quite a nice time. I didn’t see her first reaction to the song because she lived in New York at the time. So I just emailed it to her but she did really like it.”
They reportedly got married in December of 2018 after getting engaged in January of 2018. He announced the news of engagement on his Instagram, saying, “Got myself a fiancée just before the new year. We are very happy and in love and our cats are chuffed as well xx.”
Ed Sheeran and his hometown love tied the knot in a private ceremony before the holidays in 2018. According to a source, “He wanted no fuss and he wanted it to be something entirely for them- just a tiny winter wedding.”
Also, in August 2020, a source told the Sun that: “They are keeping details of the baby’s sex and due date just to family until after the baby is born, which will be soon. Ed will make a great dad. He loves kids and he built his big home in Suffolk, with the plan to start a family.”
When the baby was born, Ed Sheeran gushed via his Instagram, “We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here.” His Instagram post said, “Ello, A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you. Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.”
Ed Sheeran shared that he wanted to give his daughter a special name in the British morning show, Lorraine. He shared, “ I realize some people think it’s quite a strange name. But my wife’s called Cherry and she is the only Cherry that I’ve ever met and I think that she’s the only Cherry that she’s ever met and I quite like that. "
He continued saying that the name Lyra would continue to grow popular due to the fantasy book, His Dark Materials, where the protagonist has the same name.
He also revealed the reason why her middle name is Antarctica saying he visited the chilly continent with Cherry before she became pregnant. He went on to say, “ I’ve basically toured every single continent but I’ve never been to Antarctica so that was always on our list. So we went down there in 2019 and it was just incredible. The most amazing place on earth.”
