The United States has got its new singing sensation, a product of ABC's American Idol. She is none other than Just Sam, whose real name is Samantha Diaz.

The 20-year-old talent Just Sam, who previously performed at the subways of NYC, left Arthur Gunn behind tasting the winning spirit of American Idol.

Who Won American Idol 2020?

Just Sam aka Samantha Diaz is the winner of American Idol season 18.

She was one of the top 7 finalists alongside Arthur Gunn, Louis Knight, Francisco Martin, Dillon James, Julia Gargano, and Johhny West. Among them, Julia Gargano and Louis Knight got eliminated, and the rest made their way to the top five.

Later, only Arthur Gunn aka Dibesh Pokhrel and Just Sam, aka Samantha Diaz made through the top two.

On 18 May 2020, after the final performance, the show host, Ryan Seacrest, announced that Just Sam is the winner of American Idol Season 18.

Just Sam brilliantly performed Kelly Clarkson's 'What Does not Kill You?' as the final performance that led her to the title of the ABC show.

Just Sam is the new winner of the eighteenth season of American Idol, 2020. The real name of Sam is Samantha Diaz, and though her surname sounds Hispanic, she is not of Spanish ethnicity. 

Sam was born in 2000, and she currently resides in Harlem, the United States. She grew up with her sister Anabella, raised by her grandmother, Elizabeth, since she was six years.

•Sam's Dream Came True

Two years ago in 2018, Just Sam told her grandmother that she would make into big TV one day. And her dream has come true this year. Not only she did make her way to the big TV, but she got crowned with the title of American Idol - Season 18.

Her grandmother adopted Just Sam and her sisters as her mom spent time in and out of prison. She refers to her grandma as 'Queen' and also does not hesitate to show her love for how much she means in Sam's life. •Sam's Journey Started With A Mess In American Idol

When Sam Just stepped into the audition room for the first time, she broke down in tears while she sang Lauren Daigle's 'You Say.' However, she got another chance where she performed Andra Day's 'Rise Up', and it took her to the Hollywood round.

Later, the producers of the ABC show leaked her videos before the show officially premiered. Nevertheless, she was thankful for being able to audition in American Idol.

Just Sam never took music as granted. It was her passion and relief; that's why she never got afraid of showcasing her talent anywhere she can.

Previously, she performed at the New York City's subway, since her middle school, through which she even made her school bills by herself.
