Three years back in 2017, reports cited that Ed Sheeran was partying with his fellow singer, James Blunt, and Beatrice at Royal Lodge in Windsor in 2016. It was the same time when the Princess tried to knight out the 29 years old pop singer. She took out a ceremonial sword to act; however, she accidentally sliced the face of Ed Sheeran.
Vulture mentioned that Ed Sheeran did not know about being sliced until he 'looked down at [his] shirt, and it was just completely covered in blood.' The alleged incident led Sheeran to get up with stitches and left him with a face scar.

The recalling of the pop singer's interesting story came out as his manager Stuart Camp addressed the incident in an episode of 'Straight Up' podcast. Stating that he has not heard from Princess Beatrice, he said that they were feeling 'quite protective over that because we've never publicly commented on it.' He added;
"Certain people said, 'Oh, you should lie and say it wasn't her and say it was someone else. I said, 'Well, we're not telling anyone anything. I'm not lying, just because someone's a f---ing idiot and they've been waving a sword around when you're all drunk. It's not safe!"
Camp further jokingly called the partiers of that incident 'paralytic' when they held the world. He mentioned, 'When you hang out with those sort of circles, you're just asking for trouble, aren't you?'
But back in 2017, James Blunt spoke with Shortlist Magazine and denied the incident stating that Sheeran cut himself while drunk, messing around. He added, 'We made a fancy story up; people fell for it. It was very embarrassing.' Likewise, Ed Sheeran is shocked by the incident himself. When he appeared on Graham Norton's show, he mentioned that he had 'no idea how [the story] came out as there weren’t many people there that night.'
Sheeran further revealed that he had a huge gash on his face four weeks later, and he told people that he fell, but the story came out suddenly. He quickly added, 'The alleged story came out.'
What Was The Story Behind Ed Sheeran's Cut On Face?
The story of Ed Sheeran and Princess Beatrice first came from The Sun back in 2016. The source claims that Beatrice and Ed Sheeran and James Blunt were partying together at Royal Lodge in Windsor. And all of a sudden, Blunt started talking 'would love a knighthood.' Then Beatrice stepped up and ran and fetched a ceremonial sword.

"Beatrice, who was in great form, held the sword above him and said ‘arise Sir James’, just like her nan would at the Palace. But she must have misjudged the weight or something and, instead of lightly tapping him on the shoulder, she swung it back, not knowing Ed was standing right behind her. The blade cut into his face and it was just a few inches from his right eye."
As soon as the incident happened, Beatrice was inconsolable; however, Sheeran assured her that it was only an accident. Later, Sheeran went on having stitches on his face.
Neither of the royal families responded to The Sun's report; however, Blunt previously mentioned that it was a made-up story back then.
