Its two months ahead of the 75th birthday of the legendary female country singer, Dolly Parton. And she announced that she could return to pose for Playboy on a special day. The 'Jolene' singer stated that she is discussing with the Playboy to pose for her 75th birthday on 19 January 2021.
Appearing on the Scott Mills and Chris Stark show on Radio Live 5, Parton, 74, mentioned, 'Yeah, I might do it. If I can do it in good taste and we’ll do it along with a really good interview inside.'
'So, yeah, we’ve talked about it,' she added.
A few months back in March 2020, she teased her possible collaboration with Playboy when she was asked if she would retire on '60 Minutes Australia.'
In the interview, she mentioned that she had no plans to slow down and appear on Playboy to celebrate her 75th birthday. Responding to the question, she stated:
"I don’t plan to retire. I just turned 74, and I plan to be on the cover of Playboy magazine again. See, I did Playboy magazine years ago, and I thought it’d be such a hoot if they’ll go for it — I don’t know if they will — if I could be on the cover again when I’m 75."
She further joked that her b**bs are still the same and might wear the same outfit for the new magazine cover.
Dolly Parton in 'Playboy Magazine' in 1978
The last time she appeared on Playboy was 42 years back in 1978. However, it was not a nude shot for the inside spread. Back in 1978, when she appeared in the Playboy Magazine, she was the first country singer to appear in the men's lifestyle and entertainment magazine.
She appeared in a Playboy bunny suit cover. She was 32 years old as she posed strapless with a black top complete with her costume, including bunny ears, bow tie, and cuff.
A week before, the 74 years old country singer had come up with a story on why she turned down Elvis Presley's 'I Will Always Love You.' She appeared on Rebba McEntire's podcast, Living & Learning With Reba McEntire, and mentioned that she has nothing to do with Elvis Presley personally and loved him as others did.
Speaking to why she turned down his songs, she stated:
"It was Colonel Tom Parker, his manager, who was brilliant. You can’t take that way from people. He did all right by him. But, I already had a No. 1 song, ‘I Will Always Love You.’ And that was the most important copyright I had in my publishing company. And so I was so excited, I told everybody. They had called me that Elvis was recording it and if I wanted to come to the studio. Elvis wanted to meet me and all that."
Colonel Tom called her and said that they don't need to record anything with Elvis unless they have published, or half the publishing.
Besides the story with Elvis, Dolly Parton talked about her the phase that she had to take her own business after divorcing her husband Narvel Blackstock, in 2015.
