The American Horror Story star Chrissy Metz battled her weight since her childhood. In her own words, she mentioned that she was chubby and got thinner when she grew up. But still, she was a chubbier kid who had an impact on her eating behavior too. She mentioned;
"My friends could eat whatever they wanted to, but I knew that as a kid if I ate certain things I would totally gain weight. I had to be really cognizant of what I ate."
As she grew up, she started her career as an assistant to the agent and teacher as well.
During her teaching years, she got into acting that led her to lose some weight. She moved to Los Angeles for the audition of This Is Us and lost 50 pounds before landing the role of Kate Pearson in the NBC Drama.
Chrissy, who was bounded in emotional eating habits, suffered from depression, which she says the reason behind her weight gain. She also got hospitalized after having a panic attack led by depression.
The circumstances she dealt with led her to follow a strict plan and strategy for weight loss.
Chrissy's Weight Loss Transformation: Before And After
Chrissy Metz first started avoiding unhealthy eating habits and began walking twenty minutes every day. Chrissy began to take a 2000 calorie diet per day for her body transformation.
The routine she followed made a dramatic change in her appearance, and she lost 100 pounds in five months. Chrissy's weight loss journey started after she went through a depression and had a panic attack that got her hospitalized.
Sources revealed that Chrissy is still working on her exercise and diet and also works to improve her healthy lifestyle.

Chrissy appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2016 and revealed that her character in This Is Us had a decision to have gastric bypass surgery to reflect the "quick fix." She was like:
"Oh, I hope I get to lose weight. Because that's a win-win for me."
She further added that the frustrated Kate Pearson (Chrissy's role in This Is Us) wanted a quick fix.
After the transformation, Chrissy weighs 181 kg (399lbs) of weight.
Is Weight Loss Included In Her Contract With NBC Drama
There were talks in media that Chrissy had signed a contract with the NBC drama 'This Is Us,' where she had to lose her weight.
The contract and her weight are somehow connected. She revealed the statement which said:
“In our contract, it did state that that would be a part of it, to lose the weight in the trajectory of the character as she comes to find herself.”
She said that her deal with the drama does not need to lose her weight, but she is working on living a healthier lifestyle.
Nevertheless, Chrissy is ready to flow as per the projects she works on, where losing and gaining weight are standard facts for the actors.
