One of the prominent Russian opposition figures Alexei Navalny got poisoned with a variant of Novichok, a Soviet-era nerve agent, reports claim. As per the tests carried out in a German military laboratory, Alexei Navalny is the victim after KGB Spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter, Yulia back in a 2018 attack in Britain, which led Western nations to blame Moscow.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel cited that Alexei Navalny 'is the victim of a crime that intended to silence him.' Similarly, a German government spokesman stated that the evidence is "without a doubt."
Reports suggest that the Novichok group of nerve agents were formed a top-secret laboratory in Moscow, who was once a closely held secret of the Russian government. Likewise, the 'Newcomer' in Russia means the chemical weapons were developed in the last years of the Cold War to create agents that were both lethal and difficult to detect.
Back on 20 August 2020, Alexei Navalny fell sick on a commercial flight to Moscow from the Siberian city of Tomsk. It led the plane for a forceful emergency landing.
As per her spokesperson, Kira Yarmysh, Navalny only drank a cup of tea at the airport of Tomsk before jetting. A couple of days later, on 22 August 2020, the politician was brought from Siberia to the Charité hospital in Berlin.

While the Siberian medical team said that there were no signs of any poison in his body, the German military laboratory shows contradictory results. As of now, Navalny is induced in a coma; however, the German doctors have mentioned that he is in stable condition without any threats to his life.
He will be discharged once he is okay with his health.
