Japanese web-novel series Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (The Irregular at Magic High School) is based on genres like action, fantasy, romance, and science-fiction. Sato Tsutomu wrote the web novel.
The novel began its serialization in an internet web novel site called 'Shosetsuka ni Naro,' which started to publicize from October 2008 to March 2011, comprising a total of 6 volumes. The web novel series was then chosen and accumulated by Dengeki Bunko in July 2011, with the assistance provided by Kana Ishida is the illustrator for the series.
The web novel series was made into an anime adaptation by Madhouse, which made its debut from 6 April to 28 September 2014. The anime adaptation was directed by Manabu Ono, produced by Kazuma Miki, while Munemasa Nakamoto composed the series. Aniplex of America licensed the anime series.
After the ending of the anime series, a movie adaptation, 'The Irregular at Magic High School: The Girl Who Calls the Stars,' was also released. The movie concept was based on an original idea, written by Tsutomu Sato, which made its debut on Japan on 17 June 2017. The movie adaptation was directed by Risako Yoshida, while Eight Bit animated the film sequel.
Announcement And Release Date Of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei; Season 2 Delayed Due to Coronavirus
After the unbeaten run of the first season, the announcement of Season 2 of the anime titled 'Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Raihousha-hen' occurred at the 'Dengeki Bunko Aki no Namahōsō Festival' event on 6 October 2019.
It is going to be directed by Risako Yoshida, while Eight Bit is returning to animate the series. A visual and short teaser video was also released by the anime's official website, which depicts the concepts of the upcoming season.
Season 2, titled 'Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Raihousha-hen', was supposed to be released in July 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the release date of this anime series was postponed and delayed to October 2020.
The 2nd season of this anime franchise will adopt the "Visitor Arc" from the manga series. The arc will comprise from 9th to 11th Volumes of the web-novel series.
The Plot Of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Season 2
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei takes place in an alternating timeline, where magic and technology exist.
The story revolves around two siblings named Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba, who enlist and enroll themselves in a magic academy known as First High magic school. They attempt to live their daily life in peace as they hide their secrets.

However, the school isolates the students based on their entrance exam records, with the best scholars (known as 'Blooms') being selected to the First Course, while the worst scholars (known as 'Weeds') being relegated to the Second Course.
Tatsuya, however, is assigned to the second-course and often neglected for his plausible ineptness. At the same time, Miyuki is attached to the first course and is regarded as a prodigy for her magical powers.
The plot of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Season 2 includes the 'Visitor Arc.' The series will progress as the siblings have reached the second year at the magic high school alongside a newly found friendship with a girl named Kokoa.
The story begins when Miyuki's classmate Kitayama Shizuku is on her way to study overseas. Around the same time, a mysterious girl named Lina also appears in Japan from abroad. Another incident triggers before them as the magicians began getting assaulted by a mysterious individual who leaves his/her victims depleted of blood.

Tatsuya Shiba is the main protagonist of this anime series. He is a magician who excels at magical combat and technical knowledge. Tatsuya is a vigorous self-assured adolescent man who lives together with his younger sister in Tokyo, under the regulation given by the Yotsuba Clan, to act as her guardian.
Tatsuya possesses unique magics such as regeneration magic and decomposition magic. He is also a constituent of the Independent Magic Battalion, a hidden military organization that tests new equipment, and is associated with intel manipulation, and covert procedures. His rank is Captain. He is also the president of an organization known as FLT (Four Leaf Technology), under the name of 'Taurus Silver' as he develops new kinds of magic.

Miyuki Shiba is also the main protagonist of this anime series. She is a magician who enrolls in the magic high school alongside her brother, Tatsuya. Miyuki is also a prodigy who excels at magical attributes with devastating powers. She is the heir of the Yotsuba family. She is hugely dedicated to her brother Tatsuya, as he protected her from some incident a few years before the start of the story.
Miyuki is capable of learning all forms of magic, while her specialty magic is ice-based. The exact magnitude of her techniques is currently unknown. Like her brother, she is also a regiment member of the Independent Magic Battalion. She is deeply loved with her brother and acts jealous when other girls start to grow closer.
