Tucker's music journey had already started with the guidelines of professionalism as she induced her songs commercially since a young age. By the time of age fifteen, she already had a Grammy-nominated song entitled 'Delta Dawn' on her credit.

Tanya Tucker, one of the prolific country singer, is a mother of three kids, namely, Presley (b. July 1989), Beau "Grayson" (b. October 1991), and Layla (b.1999).

She welcomed her first two children Presley and Beau, with her ex-boyfriend, Ben Reed, with whom she dated for several years.

She shared her third child Layla with Jerry Laseter, with whom she was set to exchange the wedding vows. They got engaged after producer Laseter proposed flaunting a 10.10-carat diamond ring to marry him.

However, they never got a chance to relish their life as husband and wife. They broke off, and Tucker returned the diamond engagement ring to Laseter, which she revealed in an interview with Larry King in 2004.

Tucker and Laseter involved in several legal issues. Tucker filed a protective order against Laseter, claiming that he harassed her before shows, grabbed her throat and gave her a black eye. They are no longer together anymore.

Before Laseter and Ben Reed, she dated a fellow country singer Glenn Campbell for one and a half-year despite their age gap of twenty-two years. She also has a song named 'Would You Lay with Me in a Field of Stone' with Campbell.
