Mike Richards In Talk To Become Permanent Host Of Jeopardy!
The game show Jeopardy! lost its previous host, Alex Trebek, to cancer last November, and since, the show has been filling in the void position with different guest hosts until getting a permanent one for it.
While a few weeks back, Mike Richards, an executive producer from the show, took under the wings as one of those guest hosts in Jeopardy!, he seemingly received well feedbacks from the viewers.
Following this, Mike joined in the candidates' list with Ken Jennings, George Stephanopoulos, Robin Roberts, Aaron Rodgers, Mayim Bialik, and others for being the front-runner on the show.
And the news also made it to the headlines of him being in the final part of the negotiations for featuring himself as the front-runner and permanent host for the show, succeeding after Alex Trebek.
Previously, in February 2021, Sony Pictures Television commented about Mike taking over as a host for the show with Variety, saying that there were “several” other potential candidates” but refused to detail it any further. But now, they are said to be in an “advanced negotiations” with Mike Richards to take over the role as host of the show.
Well, Mike seems to have his share of experience previously as a host of in-game shows Divided, The Pyramid, Beauty and the Greek, and such. So, he might make it to the permanent host for Jeopardy!

Who Is Mike Richards?
Born on 5 July 1975, Mike G. Richards graduated from Pepperdine University. While attending the university, Richards wrote, produced, and hosted a weekly late-night comedy talk show titled The Randumb Show.
After that, he led a life as a stand-up comedian until getting himself to the roles of host for various shows like High School Reunion, Beauty, and the Geek, a movie news show called Dailies, 2012’s The Pyramid, the Game Show Network’s 2016/17 version of Divided, and much more.
He is prominent for his outstanding skills and talents for working in the producing team in several television programs. He has spent a decade long of work as an executive producer for the show The Price Is Right and Let’s Make a Deal, between years 2008 and 2019.
During his time in two of these shows, he earned 17 Daytime Emmy Awards nominations and won three; The Price Is Right bagged him with the award for Outstanding Game Show at the 2013, 2016, and 2018 ceremonies.
