David Archuleta Came Out As Gay

On 12 June 2021, the singer David Archuleta announced that he’s a part of the LGBTQA+ community.

“I like to keep to myself but also thought this was important to share because I know so many other people from religious upbringings feel the same way,” he began.

Archuleta said that he came out as gay to his family in 2014 but later felt more on “a spectrum of bisexual.” He said that he wanted to share his story because he knew “many other people from religious upbringing feel the same way” and let them know they were “not alone.”

“I’ve been open to myself and my close family for some years now that I am not sure about my own sexuality,” the singer wrote. “I came out in 2014 as gay to my family. But then I had similar feelings for both genders so maybe a spectrum of bisexual."

"Then I also have learned I don’t have too many sexual desires and urges as most people which works I guess because I have a commitment to save myself until marriage. Which people call asexual when they don’t experience sexual urges.” he added.

Archuleta continued: “There are people experiencing the same feelings of being LGBTQA+, (I know that’s a lot of letters that a lot of people don’t understand, but there are a lot of unique experiences people feel and live that make them feel isolated and alone that are represented) who are wrestling to follow their beliefs that are so important to them, just as I have.”

“Idk what to make of it and I don’t have all the answers. I just invite you to please consider making room to be more understanding and compassionate to those who are LGBTQA+, and those who are a part of that community and trying to find that balance with their faith which also is a huge part of their identity like myself.”

Archuleta also added that Christians, including Mormons, should “do better” to listen to members of the LGBTQA+ community.

“For me to find peace the reality has been to accept both are real things I experience and make who I am… You can be part of the LGBTQIA+ community and still believe in God and His gospel plan,” he concluded, as he let his thoughts be discussed in the comments writing “(continued in comments).”

Happily, many of the stars applauded him, calling him “brave” and sharing how “proud” they are of him, while the fans also exclaimed their happiness and support for the singer.

Does David Archuleta Have A Wife?

During a Facebook event in 2014, David Archuleta received several questions from his fans, and the most common question was about his ideal wife to get married to.

In reply, the singer stated that he had made a list out of the things he wanted to see in his wife. Afterward, he shared that he was looking for someone who loved the Lord even more than she would love him.

Continuing with a desire to want someone confident, sure of themselves, carries themselves well, and someone fun to be with. When he was asked if his wife needed to be a singer like him, he stated that it wouldn’t matter to him. But meanwhile, he wanted her to be supportive of what he did.

David also mentioned that it would be beautiful to have someone with virtue, and he could learn from her. “You can look at them and tell that’s someone who gets what virtue is,” he said. “And what is virtue? When I think of virtue, I think of the temple. Something clean and pure. Someone who strives to live their lives that way. It just makes all the difference.”

Archuleta is very secretive about his personal life and has kept his love life under the radar as well. In the early days of his career, he was linked to dating several divas from the showbiz world, including actress Fernanda Andrade, singer Jordan Pruitt, musical artist Jackie Castro, and actress Hagood Coxe, to name a few.

Meanwhile, after several years of sharing what he wants from his ideal life, David has open up about his sexuality. In the same year, in 2014, he came out as gay and became unsure of his sexuality. He shared his thoughts on this matter on the internet in 2021’s pride month. And he added that it still needs time to sort out his feelings, but he believes to be true to himself and shared his condition among the public through his social media.

In 2008, while talking about having a relationship, he said that he solely wanted to focus on his career and his young age. However, it was not like that he would never date anyone. He said that if he would find anyone to have his standard characteristics, then only he would consider having a dating life.

Back in 2010, the lack of girls in his life led people to speculate about him being a closeted gay. In fact, his visit to a gay club that same year in New York to watch his friend Charice perform turned out to be pretty expensive. The turmoil of gay rumors spread like wildfire, and David had to step up for clarification. But now, his standards have appeared to have changed as he came out to become a part of the LGBTQA+ community.
